Relaxing The Night Before Event #52
I made myself a tasty and nutritious dinner and then went out for a stroll to the Strip in the ridiculous 90+ degree evening heat. I wandered about in the Bellagio, and then threaded my way through the crowds (drunken guys bashing into me, girls in evening dresses puking into the bushes... ah, la jeunesse dorée!) to watch the musical fountains, which seem to be reliably enjoyable.
I am accustomed to having big chunks of time on my own, but I have been much more than typically social during my time in Las Vegas. I am coming to appreciate how much the intensity and interpersonal nature of playing poker wears on me, and how very important it is for me to have time truly to myself to recharge.
The solitary evening has been a great preparation for tomorrow. The only thing more I need is a really good night's sleep.

Best Video so far. I really like that you used a slide show format to tell the story, it works really well. Also, it's about time you started cashing in on those Sklansky Bucks! Hope it adds to your confidence level in the tournament tomorrow!
Sweet little vid, Sis.
J, D, and I went to see the silly new movie Hangover last night, and we all thought of you! The east coast misses you, Cardgrrl! But glad to hear you're having fun.
Good luck today!!
What a lovely slide show!
Very nice, Cardgrrl.
Did you experience the Bellagio fountains from the balcony of the Fontana Lounge? It looks like you might have judging by the photographs in your montage. It is one of my favorite "secrets" of Las Vegas. Also, Jean Philippes Patisserie (where you got the gelato) is a favorite of my families' as well. The kids love the chocolate fountain, and the desserts (apart from the gelato, the gourmet cheesecake and other quality offerings) are simply phenomenal. Last time we were there they had on display a cake made to resemble Louis Vuitton luggage. Only at Bellagio!
